Thanksgiving is a few short weeks away and this November, we’re inviting customers to add a donation to their orders, where we’ll be matching all donations, to go to the Los Angeles Mission Homeless Shelter to provide warm Thanksgiving meals to families battling homelessness in the L.A. area.
While Thanksgiving is a time for love, gratitude, and introspection, we sat down with our Co-Founder and CEO, Ying Gong, to discuss what she’s grateful for this Thanksgiving, how giving back has impacted her life, and how far we’ve come this last year.
In what ways have you seen the impact of giving in your lifetime?
My earliest understanding of giving back came from my mom. She’s a breast cancer survivor and is committed to helping other men and women fighting the disease. When I was young, she would donate clothes and food from home to members of her local breast cancer group. It inspired me to give back, be kind to others, while keeping a positive attitude. This has carried over into our DNA at TickTalk, as I saw the importance of listening and empathy. I truly want to understand our customer’s needs and to put myself in their shoes to help make their lives better–it’s embedded in our soul as a brand and in the end, really what makes us different.
Thanksgiving is a time for family and gratitude. What are you grateful for this year?
I’m most grateful for my family for supporting my work, allowing me to work without worrying, for their understanding, and for allowing me to see this dream through, despite the sacrifices, long hours, and sometimes missed activities. I feel incredibly grateful this year.
This has been a huge year of growth for TickTalk–how does that make you feel?
I’m so thankful for all of our TickTalk users who’ve supported us through this journey. It’s their trust, patience, and helpful feedback that’s allowed us to grow so quickly and win the honor of the #1 Best Kid’s Smartwatch–a huge accomplishment! I’m grateful for all of our TickTalk team for their hard work–our technicians who work 24/7 to ensure our server is working seamlessly; our Customer Service team for working one-on-one with our customers to answer any questions; our Marketing Team for inspiring me to launch TickTalk Gives, charity initiatives that allow us to reach out to the community and help families in need, which means a lot to me. I’m grateful for our team members in every department for their loyalty and love for the company and for the opportunity to experience the growth every day together.
